Here is a short list of clubs in Austin that are geared towards the outdoors. There are many other clubs, but I don't have much experience with them, so I'll have to write them up later. |

The Austin Sierra Club has weekly hikes and trips to parks around Austin and the Hill Country. Both members and non-members are welcome.

A fantastic organization which hosts hikes, camping and rafting trips, volleyball games, rock climbing, etc.on a daily basis. If you are an active person and would like to participate in group outings then you should really check this out!
There are many organizations that maintain events calendars for Austin, the Hill Country, and all of Texas. Below are links to many of their sites. An EXCELLENT source for information about neat stuff to see and do in Texas is Texas Highways Magazine. Unlike Texas Monthly which is basically all advertisements and geared toward city folk, Texas Highways Magazine is an excellent monthly publication with wonderful articles and photographs about all sorts of interesting places around Texas. I strongly recommend a subscription to that magazine. |

This is a really good guide for all sorts of stuff in the Hill Country and also includes an events listing.

Has a map of Texas broken down into regions. Click on the Hill Country region to get a good list of upcoming events throughout the Hill Country.

This is a very good site for finding out what events are going on at any of the State Parks in Texas.

A very nice looking site, but I've always had problems finding anything useful on it. Let's you choose the type of activity and the region that you would like to visit. Then it shows you what is available.

This usually has it all.

This site is probably best suited for people driving through Texas or visiting from out of state. Their events info is scarce.

Yet another list of stuff going on throughout the Hill Country.
